A Fly in the Ointment (new developments in Tennessee-Williamsville)


Yes folks, that fly would be me!!! And as you might have already noticed, I've grown FAR larger than my 6' 11" body -- this having occurred since I began the journey of finding out EXACTLY WHY my Tennessee Williams memoir was tanked and Alyson Books Legal Department -- while returning my rights to me in January of 2010 in a nice email -- called to tell me they would see that my book was NEVER published. Ask the people who govern Wilmington, NC if you don't think I know how to stir up a hormets' nest of trouble. HA!!!

>>> THIS JUST IN: Tonight, I discovered that the comments on IN MASKS OUTRAGEOUS AND AUSTERE's website concerning both how I had been Tennessee Williams' assistant during the time he worked on this play most intensely, and how the character -- the "silent, black assistant" -- was based on me, have been REMOVED from their website. They had been in one of the blogs as well as in either the  This agreed with John Uecker's assessment of that character that he gave me when I met with him in person several times in late 2009, (although while Uecker was then working on the manuscript, he decided to write that character out to relieve the play of "excess chaos.")

I'm sure all Wilmington, NC (those "in the know" anyway) KNOW what chaos I can create when on a "high horse" about the United States Constitution (due to a Kenan Family gene reinforced by the in-breeding of past generations, proudly descended from European royalty, I suppose), but I get a FAR LARGER motivation to create chaos when anything concerning my former friend, mentor, and employer, Mr. Tennessee Williams, has gone awry -- and this development (not that the credit is important -- Kenans NEVER care about credit, only effectiveness), suggests a fundamental loss of integrity in a production that SEEMED to have been so carefully crafted.

And there is more.

Also now missing from the production's website is the page of speculation on whether the main character, Babe Foxworth, is based on Maria St. Just -- an impossibility, as Tennessee feared Maria and felt trapped by her -- frequently disparaging her the entire time I worked for him. He frequently told people how Maria had married Peter Grenfel, the Lord St. Just, and then two weeks later had had him permanently committed to a mental hospital and then had managed to get control of not only his second-largest-in-England fortune consisting largely of the Grenfel Bank -- often now associated with the so-called "Illuminati" which I do not pretend to know a thing about -- but both his primary residences, Wilbury (the first Paladian home built in England, which is prominently featured in the Merchant Ivory film MAURICE -- in which, as well as in their film A ROOM WITH A VIEW --Maria -- credited under her given name Maria Britneva -- displays the physical ugliness that overtakes a hateful, conniving person as they age, but her meager acting talents as well), and the house on Gerald Road in London.

Tennessee even told many people how Maria claimed to be poor then in 1981-82, and had been trying to get HIM to pay to have the rotting gutters and downspouts replaced on both the houses. He even talked of her trying to control him and her offer that if he would only come to London, she would take over the management of his business affairs so he could get some much needed rest.

NOTHING SCARED HIM MORE THAN THAT IDEA, which he ABSOLUTELY refused to entertain. although I was aware of all of this, being naive then, I had no idea that it would be Maria, with Tennessee's attorney (the then brother-in-law of Paul McCartney) John Eastman who were already plotting to murder Tennessee (as Jackie Kennedy Onassis had warned him people associated with corrupted aspects of the US Government were plotting to murder him -- just as she knew they had murdered her first husband -- in a private meeting with Tennessee (some of which I was privy to -- some Tennessee told me about later) at a party thrown for him by Jean Stein and George Plimpton at Jean's apartment on the evening of January 11, 1982.

Tennessee Williams' brother Dakin had always insisted it was at the hands of the CIA, although I've tended to believe it was the FBI. Neither Jackie nor Tennessee mentioned a specific agency to me. But Dakin as well as Tennessee's good friend, the then-prominent writer Dotson Rader, BOTH claimed -- and I have come to join them in this -- ESPECIALLY since John Uecker implicated himself so severely (but without an actual admission of guilt), in Tennessee's death when I met with him several times in late 2009 -- that John murdered Tennessee in their published memoirs.

Dakin, dismissed as a kook -- which was easy to do, given many of his antics -- died several years ago, and Dotson's career was destroyed. He now lives very quietly in southern California, last I checked a couple of years ago.

But getting back to the NOW MISSING speculation on the play production's website concerning on whom the character Babe Foxworth was based, the material regarding Maria is not ALL that is missing. Also gone is the speculation that it might have been based on "Texas socialite Kate Moldawer."

That was material about the woman we called Texas Kate, who had been born Kate Schweppe in Atlanta -- and a close friend of the families of my somewhat distant relatives, the brothers James Graham Kenan and Frank Hawkins Kenan, the PRIMARY stewards of the accumulated Kenan Family wealth LARGELY inherited from Mary Lily Kenan, who when her first husband Henry Flagler died and she received virtually ALL his Standard Oil and Florida Development fortunes -- causing the NEW YORK TIMES to declare her "the wealthiest woman on earth," but by then Frank had ALSO inherited the estate of his father-in-law, Frank Hawkins, who having controlled not only the perhaps largest block of Coca-Cola stock, also owned the largest cotton oil distribution company in the world, Atlantic Steel (largest steel producer in Atlanta area), a major bank or two, and is the man credited with putting the Phoenix in Atlanta.

He had also been Howard Hughes' best friend growing up as their fathers had founded the Sharp-Hughes Tool Corporation that later provided Hughes with the funds for his adventures. Kate ALWAYS married well!!!), had learned from the Kenans, who mostly through their Charitable Trusts in support of University Education (the largest such private educational support in the world) and Democracy, controlled the stock of all the derivative Standard Oil companies (now ExxonMobil, Chevron, etc.), Coca-Cola, Florida Power and Light, but not yet Bank of America which they cobbled together from Kenan-founded NCNB and Hawkins' banks eventually into NationsBank before buying BankAmerica and bringing back the BoA name and headquartering in Charlotte, NC, Kenan home territory.

It was Kate's eldest son, Dudley Sharp III, who told me after Kate died that a copy of my manuscript of WALKING ON GLASS: A MEMOIR OF THE LATER DAYS OF TENNESSEE WILLIAMS had been found front and center on her writing desk when Kate died. >>> EARLIER THIS EVENING I left two messages on MASKS producer Victor Syrmis' cell phone voicemail, explaining quite calmly that I'd seen they had removed me from the website (and I had heard no more from him after he invited me to the play's opening and later rhapsodized over the quality of my memoir).

I explained that I knew he had been naive about the POWER of Sewanee University and their allies in the Episcopal Church and the Republican Party who were among the chief financial beneficiaries of the illegal overturning of the codicil of Tennessee Williams's will (Tennessee's estate which was worth $10 million when he died, was LAST valued for my by a group of lawyers who are Sewanee graduates as being $1/3 BILLION, and THAT in 2009 when the stock market was DEPRESSED. Nearly $1 BILLION is probably closer to the truth today) -- the LAST remaining living (until 2004 when he died of AIDS) bribed person on that having been Schuyler Wyatt (called Skye), who told BOTH John Uecker and me he had been supported in his lavish lifestyle while working as a flunky for a catering company in Chattanooga, TN by a "high-placed Republican in the Tennessee State Legislature" -- without trade for sex.

Since it is now nearly Midnight and Victor has NOT returned my call (although in fairness, I gave him until 1:30 AM tonight -- knowing rehearsals run late at this stage and he is there), I have decided to go ahead and post this. I have assured Victor that having recently taken on the persona of "The Diplomat", I will easily get along with Tennessee Williams' enemies who control the play's rights still, although I DO continue to work with Harvard University and other to have Tennessee's death re-examined and the illegal overturning of the codicil reversed so that Harvard University has control of ALL decisions (rights management as well as use of ALL proceeds), although Sewanee is to retain most of the ownership.

So GAME ON Victor -- if your people and I cannot reach some kind of understanding. You can google the top politicians and law enforcement officials to get their phone numbers to VERIFY how much apple-cart-upsetting I am capable of -- or call NC Governor Bev Perdue!!! You might try Thomas S. Kenan III of any of the Kenan Charitable Trusts located in Chapel Hill -- or anyone at the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University. Might try some of the CNN and Fox News Talking Heads I have caused to shut up or change lies they promulgated -- or Matt Taibbi who recently spread vicious untruths about Bank of America in a piece in THE VILLAGE VOICE.

NO ONE FUCKS WITH A KENAN -- unless they are on the correct side of the law (and then you wouldn't have to). Kenans ALWAYS win.
