Now, I know this story is ACTUALLY TRUE, but the North Carolina Legislature has NOT yet declared the State FREE of the US Constitution and legislated WHICH religion is the Official Religion of North Carolina -- yet.

Republican North Carolina state legislators have proposed allowing an official state religion in a measure that would declare the state exempt from the Constitution and court rulings.
The bill, filed Monday by two GOP lawmakers from Rowan County and backed by nine other Republicans, says each state "is sovereign" and courts cannot block a state "from making laws respecting an establishment of religion." The legislation was filed in response to a lawsuitto stop county commissioners in Rowan County from opening meetings with a Christian prayer, wral.com reported.
To my knowledge, this bill has not passed yet -- but Republicans were MOST CREATIVE in arguing to kick Sharia Law OUT of North Carolina -- EVEN CITING PROTECTION OF HOMOSEXUALS!!!:
"Rep. John Blust, R-Guilford, disagreed with arguments that the state and federal constitution already protect citizens against foreign law. “I’ve always wanted to depend on our own constitution, but we have seen that document put in, frankly, grave danger,” Blust said.
“In the United States, there is the Sharia law,” he said. “It is fundamentally at odds with U.S. jurisprudence. The two systems cannot be reconciled. Individual rights are not recognized.”
Blust said the goal of proponents of Sharia law is to infiltrate other cultures. He said Democrats should be aware of the threat.
“Some of the groups of people that are championed on the progressive side are absolutely trod upon under Sharia,” he warned. “For example, homosexuals are stoned. I don’t want to see that creeping in here.”
Rep. Larry Pittman, R-Cabarrus, agreed, likening the threat of Sharia law to Pearl Harbor. That comparison is also frequently used by anti-Islamic activist Frank Gaffney at the Center for Security Policy.

RALEIGH-- House Speaker Thom Tillis has been missing from the state house without explanation, reports the Raleigh News & Observer :
WHERE IS THOM TILLIS? One voice was missing from most of the extended House sessions Wednesday and Friday in Raleigh: House Speaker Thom Tillis.
It appears that Tillis skipped out early the past two days in Raleigh, missing the entire legislative session Wednesday and much of the debate Thursday, including on a charter school bill once-derided for discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation.
Tillis did step down from the dais Thursday to speak in favor of the House’s mini-education budget, a rare move. He did not oversee the entire day’s debate and its not clear whether he stayed for the entire session.
Where did he go? Two days of messages left with Tillis’ campaign manager and legislative spokeswoman produced no answers.
Repeated absences and the appearance of pay-to-play by the Speaker last year lead the Charlotte Observer to call for his resignation . The Raleigh News & Observerdid the same this year.

I've allowed EVERY OTHER comment made by all others to BE POSTED (those are all on OLD postings so not easily found by the public, though).
Thom Goolsby sent me a total of 12 comments between May 13, 2014 and last night (June 26, 2014), IRONICALLY -- given his conviction on SECURITIES FRAUD -- using the fake name "Doug Banker".
