It is a well known fact that Mary Lily (Kenan) Flagler inherited Henry Flagler's ENTIRE ESTATE in 1913, two years after Standard Oil was broken up, which caused the VALUE of all S.O. stock (split into the 34 or so derivative companies), to DOUBLE IN VALUE IN THAT FIRST YEAR due to the popularity of the break up.
How's THAT for "found money" -- public opinion DOUBLING your Wealth, which is FAR MORE than John D. Rockefeller EVER had -- and Americans THOUGHT Rockefeller was the WEALTHIEST MAN PERSON IN THE WORLD.

I have seen DOZENS of accounts of who founded what and owned how much of S.O. Esso -- WILDLY DIFFERING REPORTS!!!, but according to Kenan sources, Flagler founded it with himself, Harkness (his first father-in-law), and John D. Rockefeller owning equal parts, Flagler eventually coming to control much of the Harkness portion as well.
And I remember studying this in late grade school, and RAILROAD ownership by Standard Oil (or maybe it was just that Flagler ALSO had a near monopoly of US railroads???), was part of the problem because S.O. had about half ownership of all major railroad stock in the USA. 2. The BEST NEWS is that the Kenan Family put nearly all that money into Charitable Trusts -- which are self-owning, so Kenans do NOT sit on lists of the "richest", but control MORE MONEY THAN ANY OTHER FAMILY IN THE USA,TODAY!!!
And even BETTER, is that they had to appoint many FINE PEOPLE to the Charity Boards who KEEP THE KENAN HATRED OF RACIAL MINORITIES at bay -- PRAISE JESUS!!!
But the Thomas S. Kenan III Charitable Trust's current project of preserving native languages and cultures in Latin America is NOT MOVING MUCH, due to it being WINDOW DRESSING to make Tom look like something other than a TOTAL WHITE RACIST.
And Kenans have NO PROBLEM with homosexuality -- not only because Tom was one of the most SEXUALLY ACTIVE GAY MEN IN NORTH CAROLINA in his youth, but it seems to PERVADE OUR GENES!!!

Today (and for some years, unless things changed and I'm not aware of it), Tom, aged 75, has lived with his twenty-something boyfriend, Christopher, whose "Nuevo-Riche" Wilmington Drug Trash friends clued me to SOMETHING of what's ROTTEN IN THE KENAN KITCHEN!!!

Funny thing, is that I KNOW how that crap goes, due to my father and brother spending the GREAT BULK of their careers working for Sun Oil Company (SUNOCO) -- as did I for one summer of 1973, before Hilary Russell (at her greedy mother's insistence -- Barbara Russell a few years later made a DEAL with my mother that Hilary and I would GET MARRIED despite Barbara and my mother and EVERYONE ELSE knowing I am gay!!!), talked me into moving back to Cape May and we founded www.WhalesTaleCapeMay.com, which Hilary and her husband Charles Octavius Pritchard still own.
