RP: From My House with a View of Banderas Bay: "A Room with a View" -- the Movie!!!

RE-PRINTED from herehttp://theweathercontinues.blogspot.mx/2014/12/from-my-house-with-view-of-banderas-bay.html

This is not (yet) my view, but rather that from the guesthouse owned by the son of Puerto Vallarta Writers Group member Candace (and formerly by her mother, Silver, the iconic Puerto Vallarta artist): http://www.riveradelrio.com/

And when I met Silver there in 2010, the house was named "Tara Sur" -- and it really HAD gone Gone with the Wind!!!

But to both my and Candace's chagrin, her son changed the name -- and there are no more alligators in the long pool running front to back, beside the main parlor -- or perhaps they were "iguana submersibles".

>>> THIS JUST IN @ 9:12 PM, CST FROM NEPHEW CONNOR KENAN:

Look Simba, everything the light touches is our kingdom.

* * *

Strangely, I could not google up images of Maria Britneva (St. Just), from the film A Room with a View -- like I have in the past, but images from this blog DID turn up fairly prominently, including this one of Maria in her house, Wilbury, with a self-portrait of Tennessee Williams.

>>> BUT FIRST: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHARLES OCTAVIUS PRITCHARD, Denison University 1972, and married to Hilary Ann Russell, Denison 1973, like me -- my former partners in Whale's Tale!!!

Chuck and Hilary, Colin and Travis, their sons.

>>> AND BACK TO IT:

Given Maria St. Just's many contacts and connections, I bet the Travelling Wilburys took their name from her house, Wilbury, the second oldest Palladian house in England

Wilbury was featured in the Merchant Ivory film Maurice (and Maria Britneva had a larger role than in Room with a View).

And when I met Maria in person, her daughter Pulcharia was with her and engaged to the architect of Andy Warhol's SECOND Factory, and Andy gave us all a tour of both Factories with a six-foot-tall Bulgarian Countess, (sporting a light mustache).

It also appears that Maria's other daughter must have married into the celebrated Bonham-Carter acting family, Helena appearing in several Merchant Ivory films.

Texas Kate with Tennessee Williams

And it was Tennessee Williams and Texas Kate, or Kate (Schweppe) Sharp, Moldawer, eventually McNamara, who told me that some years before, Andy Warhol had published TWO separate interviews of Texas Kate in his Interview magazine -- and they laughing knee-slappingly, that Andy had asked her, in one, about something shocking he read she had done, and Kate replied, "But Andy, if you've READ it -- it HAS to be true!!!" -- and she would elaborate no further.

And one thing that is true, is that right before Kate McNamara died, her two Mexican housekeepers read my manuscript, Walking on Glass: A Memoir of the Later Days of Tennessee Williams, to Kate -- as her cancer had already taken her sight -- and at her death, my manuscript was found front and center on Kate's writing desk -- that, according to Dudley Sharp III, Kate's eldest child and Tennessee Williams's only known godson -- Episcopal.

Another thing that is true, is that ONLY the ENTIRE scene of Maria Britneva as Mrs. Vyse in the movie today, SKIPPED IN TINY INCREMENTS (which it has never done before), and it was the only odd thing about playing the disk.

John Uecker is RIGHT -- Maria St. Just really CAN haunt things!!!
