Crock o' SHIT!!! Henry's wife was a Kenan (Mary Lily), his man who ran everything except Standard Oil for him was William Rand Kenan, Jr. -- and his attending physician was Owen Kenan, MD. Flagler was PUSHED by Kenans down a staircase FAR too shallow to roll down without being pushed or dragged. I've been there -- I CHECKED IT OUT!!!
Only 1.5 years before, Ida Tarbell's work had caused Standard Oil to be broken up into 32 separate companies, Flagler owning proportional shares in each. The public LOVED it and gobbled up stock in the new companies -- DRIVING ALL PRICES more than DOUBLE what they had been as produce of the judgement -- in ONE YEAR, so the greedy Kenans, knowing they were to inherit TWICE AS MUCH, just pushed the poor old guy DOWN THE STAIRS!!!

On this date in 1913, Henry Flagler died in Palm Beach at the age of 83. His death was the result of complications resulting from a fall.
I have nothin' more to say tonight (I hope) . . .
