I had to somewhat chuckle when I reviewed your profile on SD. Specifically, 6'11" in height! Can that be real? I don't think Michael Jordan was quite that tall.
A political writer... I certainly suspect this keeps you quite busy. Further, I perceived that Mr. Trump is not what you may have anticipated. I dwell on that subject. Politically, I am registered as an Independent, and I have my views regarding our Honorable electives, both on the Federal and State arenas. That may involve some interesting discussion should we meet face to face.
As for me, I view myself a reasonable, fortunate person. I am a product of a decent home life, have lived in several countries as a child, as well as several states in the U.S. All that said, North Carolina is home. After an enjoyable work career, I have retired and seem to engage in various activities to fill my time. I assume you are familiar with OLLI. I am a member and enjoy the various lecture series. I seem to have some (not a great deal) of artistic skills within my DNA and to that end enjoy art classes, focusing in oil painting at the moment. And of course, there exists the endless task of maintaining a home and yard.
So with that introduction of my background, I shall put the ball in your court for responses and any desire to meet face to face at some point.

LOL!!! I'm actually 6' 10.75" tall, but might have shrunk 1/4". I round up to save a lot of breath and bytes over the years.
In the first Kenan genealogy (1967 when I was in 7th grade and 6' 7") it stated I would get a full basketball scholarship to Duke -- which totally confused me (I later learned that Kenan Charities were the largest support of University Education in the world for at least half a century), since my father was descended from a different of the three brothers who came to Wilmington in the 1730s than the wealthy branch -- and Dad ABSOLUTELY HATED the wealthy Kenans because about the same time that they inherited more stock in the Standard Oil companies from Henry Flagler -- than Rockefeller ever owned, and were driving all around Wilmington in chauffeured limousines, living on huge estates, etc. -- and the New York Times had called Mary Lily (Kenan) Flagler the wealthiest woman on earth.
At that time, my alcoholic grandfather kept getting evicted, so Dad lived 11 places before high school graduation at New Hanover High (where he was called "Middle Leg" for his endowment that he shared with men and women alike -- and in fact, my first cousin Graham is actually my half-brother).
My point is that Dad was PUBLICLY RIDICULED because all the other Kenans in town were filthy rich and he was literally shoe-less much of his grade-school years. And then in early 2011, soon after I moved here after my FIRST period of Political Exile in Puerto Vallarta by help of my best friend in Atlanta were I'd lived most of my adult life -- Col Dorothy Newman, Secretary of State Colin Powell's retired Chief Protocol Officer (who told me how she, Colin, and his wife Alma sat around the Powell kitchen table and decided it was too dangerous for him to run for Prez in 2008).

Nash who co-owned Costello's (gay) Piano Bar with John Stike, DDS (who had borderline raped me about 1984), falsely charged me with Cyberstalking (2011), in my first Court appearance -- a HUGE room that was packed, now retired Democrat Judge Rebecca W. Blackmore -- when I asked for a Public Defender (all my wealth had already been removed by my Swastika-loving parents and others -- nearly paid-off four bedroom house, Art collection large enough to have to rotate on the walls, etc.), she LAUGHED at me, and said she'd never heard of a Kenan without five or six Trust Funds in his back pocket -- and the whole Courtroom exploded in ridiculing laughter too.

For similar reasons, Donald Trump is continuing in power. I felt FORCED to vote for Hillary -- the Clintons Drug-Trafficking with the Bush, Cheney, and my Kenan Families -- but Trump was WORSE, and I've been proven CORRECT.
Chief Public Defender Jennifer Harjo (a Republican), later FORCED D.A. Ben David to ERASE the false conviction he got of me -- as well as other false convictions, and to drop his false charges still pending -- but it was based on an ILLEGAL/UNCONSTITUTIONAL DEAL: I had to return to Mexico for a YEAR first.
And Ben David DID erase all of that after a year -- and The New Hanover County Courts are SO SCREWED UP that Jennifer Harjo didn't even REALIZE it was illegal for the D. A. to hold charges without any evidence at all and not just DROP THEM, period -- WITHOUT CONDITIONS.
But Jen in a devout Catholic, and as they say, if you can believe anything as idiotic and Pagan as in a literal son of god, then you are STUPID ENOUGH to believe anything -- and can also commit any atrocity -- and she's Native American, not considered human by the Catholic or Protestant Churches back when over 100,000,000 Native Americans perished as White people grabbed the Americas from them.
BTW: As much as I detest much about Christianity -- but love what Jesus taught -- I have given to a few GOOD Catholic Charities and none others (and a few political candidates, all Democrats).

Jamie Sutherland (the stated plaintiff) had asked ONLY for $50,000.00 in damages, but said he knew I was all but homeless then and had no money. He told me he would DROP the lawsuit if I erased a few blog postings detailing his Drug Trafficking, and for simplicity (not principle), I did that but they KEPT GOING. Jamie even got a major promotion and raise at that time, so I don't see that he suffered a THING, and then the judgement was me owing HALF A MILLION DOLLARS, Jamie was given copyright to my memoir of working for Tennessee Williams -- when Scott Rudin and the Producers of the Harry Potter movies were looking to buy movie rights for a cool million or two. Also ownership of my blog and every email I ever write on that subject until I die.
It was a genuine NAZI GAG ORDER -- illegal and unconstitutional -- but VERY CHRISTIAN!!!
I have -- after returning from my second period of Exile in Mexico (April 2012 - June 2015) -- confronted D.A. Ben David in person and TWICE he apologized and promised to get my copyright returned -- but of course he has no control over Illinois Courts and can't do it. He works for the State of North Carolina, so the state owes me SERIOUS COMPENSATION.
I am going to make a FORTUNE off my story when the Politics cools some. If you read my blog posting of yesterday, you know I confronted Mayor Saffo yesterday downtown over his TRYING to murder me two years ago, and over Wilmington Police KILLING my best friend Evan Fish in 2011 -- and why.
Since I needed to refresh my blog readers' memories on some of my past, I will use much of this tonight on blog -- but in no way identifying you. I remain a registered Democrat -- actually independent -- but in Wilmington, it is Democrats, mostly, who have tried to kill me, kill friends of mine, commit me on lies, or jail me on false charges. And I knew all of JFK's sisters and their families, the Reagans, Sinatras, etc. Fortunately, I have gotten respect in very high places in North Carolina's Justice Department, the US Government -- if not so much in Wilmington's Political Circles (except the Judges treat me MUCH BETTER, now!!!). But the Christians of Wilmington hate me the most.
I love gardening, cooking, travel, learning (and no, I had not heard of OLLI, so thank you!!!). I only associate with one Kenan org: the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke, https://kenan.ethics.duke.edu/, where I discovered they have NO IDEA that the Kenans who funded them are still RABID RACIST CONFEDERATES etc., and I got to know Duke Benefactors Aziz and Vahdat Ahmadieh quite well. A good friend at Denison U. and I, Dean Hansell, co-founded the first gay group there in 1972, and Dean went on to co-found GLAAD, was Asst. Atty. Gen. of Illinois, got Michael Jackson's Mom her biggest win against record companies, was Police Commissioner of Los Angeles, and Gov. But Wilmington's Christian Politicians, Ministers, etc., claim I am just unsaved trash, and that those ACCOMPLISHED people are too. Some claim Tennessee Williams was nothing but a pedophile (that I never heard a claim of nor saw evidence of when I knew him and went everywhere with him), and went to HELL for writing his plays.
So, intelligent people who can converse with honesty -- not necessary agreement -- make me want to please them physically, and I can "gum ya to the root" -- as they say -- since my dentures come out!!! But whether we have any of that fun or not, I am also looking to find someone who can help me organize my materials to make money off (publication, stand-up comedy tour, or whatever). I LOVE being on a stage!!! Of course I would properly share the wealth. I have no dependents and a family well enough off, so MY wealth will nearly all go to CHARITY!!!
