What I know of what happened that day, is that my boyfriend Marc LaFont of Santa Ana, CA was visiting, and we had been in front of the main stage at the Olympics, but after a couple of hours grew tired of it and took the subway to the Armory gay bar -- and when we walked in, all the flat-screen TVs showed the CHAOS right after the bomb went off.
It was only several months later, when I visited the park and saw markers of where the bomb had gone off -- and then found original press reports online -- I found that I had been standing only a few feet from the backpack with the bomb, and Marc on the other side of me. Then while I was homeless in Wilmington, NC in early 2012, I got to know "Scully" (sp?), a friend of Michael "Jersey" Keogh (who had butchered for President Nixon in New Jersey, and was cared for by a Presbyterian Charity).

"Scully" STOLE an old book "Jersey" had bought at a yard sale -- that was CHOCK FULL of original engraved illustrations. Jersey had it assessed -- and while I don't really approve of tearing old books apart, it was worth THOUSANDS of dollars as it had so many great, frameable prints. Then Scully drove off in his old red Jeep Cherokee, never to be seen again.
Scully was always deferential to me -- and claimed he had been in charge of the CIA in Atlanta during the 1996 Olympics, and WATCHED from a nearby rooftop as the bomb was placed and later detonated. He said it was MEANT to take me out as well as to terrorize, and his GUILT in working with the CIA to murder me and harm as many as possible made him go CRAZY.
I really have no idea how to verify most of this, but I DO KNOW that when Marc LaFont first contacted me, it was summer of 1995, and it was via the internet -- I having my computer with me at the beach house on Wrightsville Beach, NC that my whole family was staying at. Marc wrote "A piece of paper on my desk says I should date you, so HELLO!!!"
Previously, my first cousin Janet (Meyer) Opperman lived with her husband Kim Opperman immediately behind Marc's house with gate connecting the yards. Their second child, Ian Opperman, was born while they lived there on Birch Avenue -- and it was RIGHT AFTER THEY MOVED AWAY that Marc contacted me. He had spied on them, and now was to control me through dating.
Marc and his Roman Catholic brother Robert A. LaFont -- an eye doctor, no less -- owned many properties together that they had inherited from their parents -- including an old strip mall that when we visited it, it was full of MEXICAN DRUG-SMUGGLERS with store fronts to appear real. And Marc REFUSED to wear a shirt that cost less than $600 -- in the late 1990s!!!
It was BECAUSE Janet "Jan" Meyer had married the Jew Kim Opperman (and because Uncle Bob was actually gay -- which he told me twice), that Mom, Ruth Anne (Meyer) Kenan, worked with a Veterans Hospital in Lower Mississippi (now closed), and MURDERED BOB with double-strength Lithium Carbonate, giving him chemically induced Diabetes, so Bob's fingers, toes, etc., were one-by-one amputated for the GREAT GLORY OF JESUS CHRIST and the HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH (Mom got her orders from Catholic Popes, her last ones from Pope Francis, before Mom retired as America's TOP NAZI a few years ago).
The CIA was going to murder (sacrifice) Marc LaFont, too, but we BOTH escaped. Jan's brother George Meyer -- who we all were certain was totally gay, he being totally effeminate and sporting a serious lisp growing up -- lived in the garage apartment halfway between Marc's and the Oppermans' house, so I ASSUME he and Marc likely had some good sex.

Throughout much of its modern history, Atlanta has acted as a magnet for gays and lesbians, attracting them for personal, professional, and political reasons. Since the late 1960s and early 1970s, Atlanta has created an ever-growing infrastructure of businesses, entertainment venues, political organizations, social networks, and a publishing industry. The city has become the southern regional center for LGBT culture, and several local institutions contain valuable source materials on the LGBT community, past and present, including the Kenan Research Center at the Atlanta History Center (www.atlantahistorycenter.com), Emory University (www.emory.edu), and Georgia State University (www.gsu.edu).
Despite current acquisition efforts at these institutions, there remains little accessible documentation of the lives of LGBT women and men in Atlanta and the South during much of the early 20th century. Considerable work remains to locate, acquire, preserve, and make available source materials, especially those documenting African Americans' and women's lives and experiences.
An ongoing oral history project at the Kenan Research Center has marked an important step in that direction. The center began collecting in the early 1990s with the help of the Atlanta Lesbian and Gay History Thing, Inc., a nonprofit group dedicated to the preservation of the city's queer history. Though the organization dissolved in the late 1990s, its collection forms the cornerstone of the research center's LGBT collections.
The center has also begun intensive outreach to bolster this significant repository of LGBT archival resources, including photographs, personal papers, and organizational records.
At times, the oral history and archival efforts have reinforced each other in unexpected ways. One particularly gripping example occurred during an oral history interview with Atlanta resident Barbara Vogel, who was born in Crawford Long Hospital in May 1939. While reflecting on her early years, Vogel revealed that her mother, Dorothy Vogel, had had a series of female partners—all documented in three photo albums, the earliest dating to 1918. Having established a strong rapport with Barbara Vogel and her partner, Charlene McLemore, we were elated when she donated the albums to the research center.
