The Monster Gay Bars in Key West, Manhattan, and on Long Island
>>> ADDED NOTE TO ALL OF MY SECURED-SERVER-SERVED AUDIENCE:
First for Cia Agent Ben Schachtman (who has been "illin'" since he claimed to sneeze and spray BLOOD DROPLETS as if he had TUBERCULOSIS or similar in his MOTHER'S HOUSE in Camden County, New Jersey, earlier this summer!!!), and to REAL STRAIGHT HOTSTER CIA Leader Kevin Maurer (who fucks his wife so well she is HAPPY and WELL-EMPLOYED -- unlike Schachtman's wife Casey, who lost her job in an actual Magic Shop), and former D.A. Benjamin R. David, who gets HARD with PRE-CUM whenever he thinks of me!!!:
That's right: Kevin Maurer is the WINNER!!!

The FIRST MONSTER I met in Hotel Mercurio (now shut down by Police for Hard-Drug Trafficking), was Jamie Lee Sutherland, then an Exec of Wells Fargo Advisors, Chicago, who was WAITING THERE TO MEET ME and to sell me his Casa Vista Los Arcos in Mismaloya, overlooking the set from the movie The Night of the Iguana:
Jamie's bank was fined that year $200,000,000.00 in his Chicago Office -- the LARGEST FINE TO DATE by the US Government for DRUG-MONEY LAUNDERING.
Jamie sued me for blogging about his Drug Trafficking and also because I blogged about his partying naked with Illinois State Senator Barack Obama and Professional Ballet Dancer Rahm Emanuel (who became the slave of Benjamin Netanyahu and President Bill Clinton, who with his wife, Hillary, were members of the CIA Christian Bush Family -- and NEVER DEMOCRATS)!!!
HOLY SHIT!!! The guy who cooperated with President Obama, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Fox News Talking Head and Lawyer Daliah Saper, El Chapo Guzman, etc. -- had a SERIOUS run-in with the Law in Florida (this does not say if he was convicted -- I doubt it), on March 19, 2025 in Broward County, Florida -- and this is what he looked like when we got HIGH AS KITES TOGETHER and he TEASED ME WITH HIS GIANT PENIS (on marijuana and liquor) in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in the early months of 2010!!!

So many of these Democrats are HARD-DRUG TRAFFICKERS, so thanks to the Democratic Party under Jill Hopman, we will NOT lose our HARD DRUGS on the STREETS!!! Mayor Bill Saffo, Judge Faison, Suzi Hamilton, and Spence Broadhurst are the BIGGEST CRIMINALS you support!!!
Nearly ALL of the others are WORTHY PATRIOTS, so with Jill Hopman's admitted "Magical Thinking", I HOPE she does not PULL the GOOD DEMS into the TRUMP (Donald, not Mary), TOILET where she seems to live!!!
I will have a lot more on the 2026 Unity Banquet later, along with a bunch of pics (the photographer said we’d have them by tonight). Until then, I just want to thank you all so much—just so so so much—for making this the most-successful event in New Hanover County Democratic Party history. I say that every year, I know. But just…wow. We broke all records. Some would probably call it magical... **************
Good evening, and welcome to the New Hanover County Democratic Party’s Unity Banquet! My name is Jill Hopman, your very grateful chair. Thank you all so much for being here!
First, I just want to give a special thanks to our very special guest, the fabulous Mary L Trump, along with her amazing wife Ronda Cress and Chief of Staff Alex Schaefer. Mary is a funny, down-to-earth, incredible woman, author, media star, and the national speaker we dreamed of landing. She traveled here to invest in our county party, to support the local powerhouse we have all built together, in this uniquely purple, beautiful bellwether we call home. That is a credit to all of you. This is already the most-successful event in NHCDP history, and with your help, we may break *six figures* tonight for the first time ever! And I just…I really cannot thank you all enough for making this such a magical night.
Believe it or not, magic, along with “witchcraft, enchantments, and sorceries,” was banned for centuries in North Carolina under a 1679 colonial law. The law was enforced as recently as 1976 against the famed Witch of Morganton, who later ran for mayor (and lost). It only took 300 years, but we finally secured full civil rights for wizards in 2004, when the law was repealed. Total gamechanger. Everyone here knows that Dumbledore would have been a Democrat.
But really, how could we ever try to ban magic when it’s…everywhere? I think it’s magical if I make a green light at College & Oleander or get an extra chicken nugget from McDonald’s or Commissioner Rob Zapple stays within his allotted speaking time.
I have always been a little obsessed with magic, though. As a kid in the 90s, I had a caboodle—Young Dems, imagine a hot-pink tackle box where most girls kept all their best make-up, stickers, and secrets—but mine was filled with baseball cards and magic tricks. Like a fake rubber thumb to make silk napkins disappear and trick decks of card. (Um, it was cool, I promise). It recently hit me that, 30 years later, I’m still that kid with a caboodle, except now it is filled with, like, swords, snakes, handcuffs, blue ballots, and buzz saws, and I am not trying to dazzle a 4th grade sleepover but an entire electorate. Because that is what local politics often is: magic.
I mean, what is winning an election if not, above all else, magic? And who are candidates—those courageous performers who put on a show so stunning and convincing, who transform the ordinary into the magnificent and inspire audiences to believe in the impossible—if not magicians? A brilliant magic trick, like a political campaign, tells a compelling story that logic cannot dismiss. Magicians walk on stage and promise to pull a rabbit out of an empty hat; then, abracadabra, they deliver the unbelievable in a seemingly effortless, thrilling way.
Most candidates start with nothing but hope and an empty hat. (Or in Tim Merrick’s case, many many hats). But somehow, door by door, dollar by dollar, with a few magic words and an ace up their sleeve, they capture the public’s imagination and pull something very real out of it.
Just like Houdini, Democrats also materialize objects out of thin air. Every day, we turn campaign promises into concrete policies and transform abstract values, like equality or affordability, into life-changing realities. Political leaders, like magicians, rely on strategic showmanship to enchant and persuade. But we do it from a bigger stage, with a brighter spotlight, and when we win, the show is not over, and the real work has only just begun.
Will Rogers once famously wrote, “We shouldn’t elect a President; we should elect a magician.” But here is a fun fact: New Hanover County actually did. One of the only magical politicians in North Carolina history was William H. Moore, a pragmatist from right here in Wilmington who served as our state representative and then state senator until 1877. Mr. Moore, however, did not find true success until he reinvented himself as the “Conjure Politician,” a powerful spiritual doctor who used root medicine and folk magic to heal and harm. In fact, his specialty was “court case magic.” When his patients faced legal troubles, Mr. Moore would blend specific plants to silence judges or make juries more sympathetic. He earned $500/week, the equivalent of nearly $20K today, for this!
150 years later, New Hanover County is just as magical as it has ever been. Since 2023, Democrats have won nearly 70% of our elections here, with the NHCDP’s budget growing from $40K to over $200K in just three years. We recently implemented our first strategic plan and budget since 2016; created a local code of conduct and vetting policy; knocked the most doors and earned the most votes in municipal history; and became the fifth professionalized county party in the state with paid staff. We advocated for living wages, clean water, an early voting plan, and Sledge Forest, while fighting against bible study in schools, mass surveillance, a bridge toll, and other Republican shenanigans.
You know what else is magical, though? When you try something rather crazy—like designing your own mini primary straw poll or hosting your first private fundraiser that many warned you will fail—and it actually works. Twice.
Magic is sweeping back-to-back municipal ballots and electing the first-ever, all-Democratic, female-majority City Council, with rockstar Councilwomen JC Lyle and Cassidy Santaguida. It is canvassing all the new transplants in Riverlights with Mayor Bill Saffo, the longest-serving Democrat in the county, and then watching their faces as it hits them that the actual mayor is at their door and they are in a bathrobe. It is meeting a boy wizard like Councilman David Joyner, certain that you will ask him to wait until next cycle, and an hour later, in awe, hearing yourself say, “fine, if you want to do this…,” and then watching him beat everyone to become the youngest and first openly LGBTQ+ council member.
Magic is going for a quick coffee to charm some rando delegate named Elect Tim Merrick into supporting you for chair, and two hours later, you’re still talking politics, and three years after that, he is on School Board and headed to the General Assembly next, with the most doors knocked and the 4th highest fundraising by any house candidate in the state, where he will join HD18’s incredible Representative Deborah Butler, our lone Democrat in Raleigh.
It is magical to have Commissioners Steph Walker and Elect Rob Zapple, the Penn and Teller dream team of local politics, pull out their briefing books and teach you about zoning, density bonuses, reserve funds, or any page in their policy wonk brains. Now we just need to send Dr. Le Shonda Wallace, one of the best candidates I have ever met, to join them and flip Commission.
Magic is knowing that our local courts are led by the brightest and kindest minds in the county, like Faison For Judge, Judge Melinda Crouch, Judge Jay Corpening, Judge Robin Wicks Robinson, and Judge Ricardo Jensen. It is having Court of Appeals Judge Toby Hampson here to fire us up, along with future Supreme Court candidates, Judge Chris Brook and Judge Bryan Collins. Really, if anyone needs a lawyer, this room charges about $10,000/hour. No, literally, that’s the Convention Center’s actual price.
And then we have the unsung magical heroes in the room: Board of Elections members Derrick Miller and Jim Morgan, who somehow, from the minority, secured an additional polling site and protected all weekend voting hours, despite Dallas Woodhouse torturing the rest of the state.
Magic is finding that one donor who invests in you before anyone else will, like Louise and Steve Coggins or Deloris Rhodes and the Democratic Women of Landfall or former Mayor Spence Broadhurst, and then meeting the sponsors who catapult you to an entirely different level like Robert Zaytoun [and so many others]. It is building a party that former electeds still actively support, like past school board members Nick Rhodes and Nelson Beaulieu or our amazing past House Rep. Susi Hamilton.
Building coalitions, like watching someone levitate, changes the public’s perception of reality and what is truly possible with collaboration. That is why it is so magical to see our community partners here in their individual capacities, like NHCAE President Lisa Espy, Sierra Club President and Dr. Kelly for Soil & Water, and Planned Parenthood Director Leigh Muscle. We are also thrilled to have our NCDP friends join us, like NCDP Third Vice Elijah King for Durham, DNC Member Matt Hughes, State Hispanic Caucus President Adrian Maldonado Jr., and especially my fellow chair and Brunswick partner, Shelley Allen.
To the Unity Banquet Committee and the incredible volunteers who brought this event to life, particularly co-chairs April Farr, who spent hundreds of hours on this, and Beth Hanff, who also serves as our NHCDP Third Vice, thank you for everything. To each auxiliary president, committee leader, precinct officer, donor, and volunteer. All of you, every single Democrat here, has made this party the success it is today.
After many NHCDP Boards, it is pure magic to find a bright, cohesive, hardworking group that just clicks. Thank you so much to Second Vice Matt Alfonso, the Prince of Precincts; UNCW Dems President and NHCDP Secretary Simeon Cole, who makes David Joyner seem elderly; Treasurer and financial genius Misty Tullar, who is the exact expert we needed to usher us into this new fundraising era; and to the most magical of all: the tireless, brilliant, irreplaceable, best person I know, our First Vice Chair, Tim’s campaign manager, and my political partner in crime, Rachel Hatfield. I could not do this without her. She is the NHCDP’s Hermione Granger, i.e. the smarter, more critical, real hero of this story.
And finally, to our candidates. Magic is watching that state leader you’ve known for years impress you every single day and become one of your closest friends. Dr. Kimberly Hardy and I have decided that, after we beat David Rouzer, go to U.S. Congress, and actually deliver the bridge funding our county desperately needs, then we will start our own riverboat company, because the Henrietta needs an upgrade far more than any bridge and a chill career just giving water tours in the sun sounds, yes, magical.
Magic is sitting down with rookies like Jennie Wells Thomason for Clerk of Superior Court, and instantly knowing they have “it,” that special unteachable political trait that makes my strategic, scheming, spidey senses tingle. It is finding a fabulous trio like Jerry Jones, Margie for NHC, and Brittnei LaRue, and knowing they have everything we need to take back School Board. It is discovering our next District Judge in Katie Corpening, sending Kelly Hanley to Superior Court, and ensuring Elect Cate Calson joins Kelly McConnell on Soil and Water. And we all know that fellow magician and SD7 candidate Jessica Bichler is going to straight-up make Michael Lee disappear.
Listen, local politics can sometimes feel like an endless hall of mirrors. But the NHCDP has such a unique opportunity this November. We can protect our courts, send Roy Cooper to the Senate, send Kim Hardy to Congress, and take back County Commission, School Board, Clerk of Courts, *and* two General Assembly seats. So please keep showing up and doing the hard work that makes the impossible look effortless.
Because the truth is, there is no trick to our magic: Democrats just refuse to stop believing in what we can build and achieve together. So, thank you all so much for being here tonight and for making this the best Unity Banquet in NHCDP history! And for our final trick in 2026, let’s finally, magically turn New Hanover County from purple to blue.

LOL!!!
1. Bill Maher is an Atheist and Dolly spoke constantly of her faith in Jesus, so of COURSE he ridiculed her !!!
2. Dolly would have LOVED his "nipple" joke:
Bill Maher is facing backlash for using his first “Real Time” monologue since the death of Dolly Parton to joke about the late country music legend’s breasts.
“Everybody around the country, even around the world — London they’re doing things. The Santa Monica ferris wheel is lit up with hearts. The Empire State Building was put up in pink. The Sphere in Las Vegas added a nipple.”
Judge Faison is a HUGE DRUG-TRAFFICKER through his "Christian Church" and does drug business with my Kenan Family of Chapel Hill. He SCREWED ME in Court in 2015, because he was PISSED OFF that I could prove Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were HUGE DRUG-TRAFFICKERS with my Kenan Family and El Chapo Guzman when they STOLE copyright to my Memoir of working for Tennessee Williams with help of then Dem. D.A. Benjamin R. David, his legal Intern Jeffrey Duncan who then moved to Chicago to work for the tiny Saper Law. Daliah Saper (a Fox News Talking Head), with Jamie Lee Sutherland, then of Wells Fargo Advisors, Chicago (that Chicago Office was fined that year $200,000,000.00 for laundering Drug Money), and Jamie got PROMOTED to Ameriprise Financial, and rather recently was arrested for VIOLENCE UNDER THE INFLUENCE near Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Dem. Judge James Faison III
I was honored to attend the National Black Leadership Caucus’ commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, where the Honorable Faison For Judge delivered a powerful keynote address.
We often remember the March for Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, but at its heart was a cause: jobs, freedom, voting rights, equality and opportunity.
One message from Judge Faison especially stayed with me: “Judge without being judgmental.”
He reminded us of the importance of not prejudging people based on narratives or circumstances, but doing the work to listen, investigate and understand what lies beneath the surface. When we do, we may discover how much we have in common and how much we need one another.
That lesson matters deeply in education. Every child deserves to be seen for their potential, not prejudged by their circumstances. Every child, regardless of where they live, what they look like or the challenges they face, deserves access to a quality education that prepares them to thrive.
Judge Faison also reminded us, through imagery of Harriet Tubman’s experience, that when you hear the dogs, see the torches and hear the naysayers, keep going toward the cause.
For me, that cause is clear: ensuring every child in New Hanover County has access to a quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Smart Schools. Trusted Leadership. Together.
