My distant wealthy and powerful Kenan relatives who founded Univeresity of North Carolina (the teams are called Tar Heels because the Kenans made their first money from pine/pitch/turpintine plantations) on land they donated in 1789 (the FIRST state supported university in America), and have nurtured it as it spread to many campuses (us Kenans are all more gay or bi than the general population, best I've been able to tell) are already fighting back: THEY FUNDED EVERYBODY'S UNIVERSITY EDUCATION not only in NC, but beyond to a lesser extent.
Thomas S. Kenan III, groomed by his great Dad, Frank Hawkins Kenan -- a stalwart Republican in the Eisenhower mode (he'd HATE the Tea Party Faux Christian, hateful Republicans who have taken over the state and are KILLING Kenan-funded education at every turn) -- is, like me, gay as a goose -- which his Dad was well aware of. William R. Kenan Jr., who founded the granddaddy of Kenan Trusts, moved in with his devoted, long-time male secretary, Scotty, after his wife died, and Mary Lily Kenan, Will's sister, who inherited all of Flagler's wealth (the New York Times called her the wealthiest woman in the world at the time -- that before the Standard Oil Trust was broken up, the popularity of that causing the derivative stocks which she owned the same proportion of to double in value in one year -- making her TWICE as rich and able to really put some heft into all the resultant Charitable Trusts) mostly partied with Mr. and Mrs. Pembroke Jones in various marble palaces (including Newport, RI) where they led the social scene.
The Joneses always traveled with Pembroke's male lover, and included him in most things. The expression "keeping up with the Joneses" originated with the extravagance of the parties the Joneses threw for Mary Lily, the wealthiest woman in the world. Now, the Kenans prefer to hide their wealth, and indeed, their Charitable Trusts are self-owning, although they still control them and their stock portfolios: BRILLIANT!!!
My own father, William Scott Kenan, is a homosexual who was blackmailed in 1950 into marrying my mother, Ruth Anne (Meyer) Kenan so she could hide swastikas behind the Kenan name. My mother was FIRST OF MANY TIMES confirmed to me by key Jews in Atlanta in 1990, to be the top Nazi in the US. Later, I learned she is Dick Cheney's boss. I used to work for Tennessee Williams and Jackie Kennedy Onassis talk him and me secrets of how our government (FBI) murdered her husband, RFK, and MLK Jr. I am now getting the Kennedys' revenge as I promised Jackie I would do when the time was ripe. From visionary Atlanta businessman Frank Hawkins who set up Atlanta to be the business Phoenix it is today (Frank Hawkins Kenan's maternal grandfather, after whom he was named) the Kenan's inherited major holdings in many businesses, including Coca Cola (which in aggregate, Kenan Charitable Trusts are the largest stockholder), as well as Hawkins' C&S Bank, which grew to be First Atlanta, then, combined with Kenan-founded NCNB, Nationsbank, before the Kenans bought and folded in Bank of America, moving its headquarters from the West Coast to Charlotte.
Now, Republicans are trying to KILL the business climate in North Carolina, nurtured so lovingly by the Kenan Family. This exerpt is fromm the Huffingtonpost.com article :
Mitchell Gold, CEO and co-founder of Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, and Bob Page, CEO and founder of Replacements Ltd, argued that the inevitable campaign urging voters to pass the constitutional amendment would have a detrimental effect on children who may just be learning they're gay. Gold and Page said the atmosphere churned up by the campaign would also discourage businesses from relocating to the state.
"This amendment is a black eye. What's bad about this for business is it's sickening. ... It is sickening that they would put kids' lives on the line for their political ambitions," Gold said.
Eakes, who is CEO of Self-Help Credit Union and the Center for Responsible Lending, said that while he is not a spokesman for Bank of America, he has served on the company's advisory council and could attest that the North Carolina-based bank has some 25,000 gay staff members.
"If you want to figure out a way to push Bank of America to move its headquarters from Charlotte to New York, pass this amendment," Eakes said.

This is the worst written article that I have ever read. Frank would turn over in his grave if he read this article. I knew his sons by his first wife. One daughter by his second wife.
Well, "Mike", I STILL know Thomas S. Kenan III -- by correspondence, no longer by voice -- Have spoken with his step-mother, Betty, knew his Uncle Jimmy (James Graham Kenan), as well as Jimmy's nephew, Gregg Loomis (who told me in 1990 that Frank Hawkins Kenan -- and his closest family -- hated only JEWS more than they hate "Niggers"). And I also knew Gregg's son Kenan Loomis, also an attorney -- among other things.
I'm sorry if you don't know any of them any more, but you are CERTAINLY entitled to an OPINION that differs with the FACTS. I suspect that you are a White Christian -- possibly even a Republican.
That is how your GOD, Adolf Hitler came to power, but Trump is on the steep-pitched WANE, now -- pity.
And NEXT time, please provide a SEARCHABLE identity -- that way folks won't think you are "LYIN' from HIDIN'", as they say . . .
