Oh Jehoseph,
While I "knew" you would not pay this directly, we
CONTINUE to use the English language quite differently -- as if half the
vocabulary meant different things to each of us!!!
I like to blame this on the Yankee (I was raised as one, but
later reverted to my Southern roots -- due to a "teaspoon" of bourbon
fed me at age 6 weeks by my Dad's best Wilmington friend from his youth, Odell
Balkcum -- of the notorious used-car Balkcums, I expect -- as well as six
months exposure to Mr. Tennessee Williams, to say nothing of my Kenan DNA) in
you -- versus the Confederate in me (Confederate Integrity -- NOT HIDEOUS
SLAVERY!!! -- versus Yankee "MIGHT MAKES RIGHT. HEIL HITLER!!!".
I'll discuss this with Teri tomorrow (if I can reach her),
WITHOUT expectation of result (so we can be as adult about it as possible).
I've NEVER expected to "retrieve" -- which to me
sounds like a refund -- any of the deposit. And given Mark's track record with
rents and funds and nearly EVERY tenant leaving prematurely and
"unexpectedly" (so I kind of feel sorry for him and expect that if
his father who OWNS the property ever returns from Detroit he'll skin Mark
alive for his GROSS MISMANAGEMENT), I was not about to demand that he return it
to me.
Let's account for every tenant I met:
1. Apt. 6: Forget his name, but the white guy older than me
who lived next door and coldly promised to kill either of my cats if they
jumped balconies into his apartment: he had moved in AHEAD OF ME, but didn't
even first CONTACT Mark to rent until AFTER I had made the commitment. Although
he and I actually "made nice" after the security between balconies
was improved very professionally by Mark, he SUDDENLY DISAPPEARED one night,
IMMEDIATELY after I blogged that I was certain he was drug-mafia-connected --
and I had put in my OWN wifi router (with MY password), to get him to stop
hacking my computer (and had blogged about that as well), which since Mark set
it up for EVERYONE in the building to have SEPARATE Wifi for each apartment --
but EACH WITH THE SAME PASSWORD (and NO wifi router had ANY Ethernet ports --
something I've NEVER seen before).
Bottom Line: this guy left SO FAST Mark had no idea he was
gone until I told Mark after NOT seeing him for a week -- I think his name
was Larry, although I KNOW it's in my blog. He delighted in hiking up and
down the local hills, which I'd seen him doing many times. But when Mark
finally after nearly a month got an email reply to Mark's queries, Larry
claimed he had had to return to the US for emergency super-specialist-only
heart surgery (if you suspect heart trouble and consult a Mexican doctor, get
enough of a diagnosis to know you have to have a specialist -- and then
discover the closest qualified doctor is in the US -- ALL THE WHILE CLIMBING
HILLS WITH NO SYMPTOMS WHATSOEVER WHICH WOULD HAVE STOPPED THE HILL-CLIMBING --
something is fishy!!!
QUADRUPLE that if THE VERY DAY, whose night you snuck away
on, you had PAID THE NEXT MONTH'S RENT like Mark told me Larry did. NOTHING
HERE ASSES (or passes), THE SNIFF TEST!!!
2. And speaking of those who get off sniffing, SURELY you
remember "Foreskin Cheese King" (from Hawaii), Vidal Dimonte, no???
After palling around with me on what turned out to be the
Drug-Mafia-controlled beaches of Mismaloya, and completing his OWN mafia duties
in PV, he went on further drug business in Mexico City and then Guadalajara
before returning to Hawaii. Through all this time, he was my Facebook Friend
who "liked" more of my posting there than anyone else. BUT, after I
got really suspicious of some of the things he wrote to me and googled info on
his business in HI as well as several of his Facebook Friends and saw how
THOROUGHLY Mafia-connected he was and confronted him, he replied that NO ONE
was his enemy unless he said so (implying that I WASN'T), but the next day
quietly un-friended and blocked me and I've heard nothing from him since
(although I STILL have at least two of his three-known-to-me email addresses on
at least one of my lists).
3. The cheery Presbyterian artist who later took Vidal's
apartment #5, but had a blow-out with me later, is actually a rather nice woman
who simply can't believe that at least MUCH of the Presbyterian Church is
"devil-corrupted". I would recommend to her to simply THANK HER LUCKY
STARS that at least she is not EPISCOPALIAN, the MOST DRUG-MAFIA-CORRUPTED
Church in America (and who punked TONS of money out of the wealthy Kenans --
just like the Republican Party did as well). At least the Presbyterians were
not involved in the planning, executing, and profiting from Tennessee Williams'
murder and THEFT of estate from Harvard like the Episcopalians!!!
4. The guy in the one-room apartment on the pool level who
was to move out after two years of kitchenless living -- except for the pool
kitchen, which made ALL THE REST OF US feel like going to the pool was an
invasion of his privacy (and he WAS ballin' some HOT YOUNG MEXICAN MEN. Mark
certainly liked to party with him.), actually DID move out EXACTLY when Mark
told me he was going to -- although after Mark realized his error in agreeing
that I might rent that room in conjunction with a functioning apartment,
Mark CLAIMED the guy had extended. ANOTHER Mark Servin LIE!!!

If I read your last paragraph correctly, you seem to be
correctly saying that Mark had ALREADY asked me to move out before the end of
my lease (TRUE -- although MAYBE he didn't mean quite so early), so no lease
(not legally signed anyway), was broken -- AND he owes me $325.00 for rent paid
that I did not use after surrendering possession. You probably don't mean
this, (and I'm OVERDUE for a nap and am not thinking clearly). Still, when you
THINK ABOUT IT, unclear thinking NEVER stopped my adversaries from making
claims that often cost me my liberty to jails or nut-house, SO TURNABOUT IS
FAIR PLAY!!!
That said, I doubt I can get Teri to actually INVOICE Mark
for the money he clearly owes me -- and being a nice guy, I say "let
sleeping dogs lie (lay???)" (Truth be told, I DOUBT dogs EVER have sex or
deposit eggs whilest sleeping.)
Well, if THE POWERS THAT BE do or do NOT allow THIS
email to Teri, I dare say that whatever we decide tomorrow -- we'll do it while
in the BEST HUMOR!!! (I just love that woman "to death" -- she's
proved her brilliance and caring time and time again.)

Retrieving
any part of your $200 deposit seems unlikely. In your favor, though the rent
was paid for the month of Sept, you moved out mid-month leaving 2 weeks (value
of 1/2 of $650, or $325) for Mark to clean it up and re-rent it. Also,
he'd already said he wanted you to vacate before the end of October (when your
6 months "lease" ended) so he could ready the premises for his
habitual tenant of apt 7.
