Dear Rev. Harris,
Let me first introduce myself (and with your being NOT native to the USA, I'll fill in a few extra details). My name is Scott David Kenan, the last assistant to Tennessee Williams -- yet ENTIRELY cut off from the Episcopal Church-owned TENNESSEE WILLIAMS FESTIVAL INDUSTRY.
Not only that, but descended from the Kenan Family of North Carolina -- the family that made its first fortune before the American Revolution in pine forest products -- which is WHY teams at UNC Chapel Hill (founded by Kenans and allies in 1789 -- simultaneously INVENTING the world's first Public University) often play in Kenan Stadium and are called "Tar Heals", tar, with pitch and turpentine, FINANCING that school, originally.
Today, I believe I read that 68 or maybe 84 universities in the United States get MORE support from various Kenan Family Charitable Trusts than from any other private source. That said, I lived under a BRIDGE in Wilmington, NC just two years ago, although in a sort of fortress-house now, overlooking Old Town and Banderas Bay in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico -- not far from Mismaloya, where Tennessee's play THE NIGHT OF THE IGUANA was filmed. I'm doing just fine (and was NOT in line for an inheritance).
But my wealthy Kenan relatives BECAME possibly even the LARGEST financial support of the Episcopal Church and Sewanee, but for 100 years this year, their Charities have been the world's LARGEST private support of University Education in the world -- in the world -- did prideful me mention that "world" thing???. ONE HUNDRED YEARS???
There is a TON of history attached to my family -- they being the wealthiest and most politically savvy in the South at the time, and arguably were the greatest FORCE behind the South Rebelling over integrity of contracts -- NOT slavery, although some Kenan properties had over 300 slaves each, and MY great-granddad bought and FREED as many slaves as he could afford before the War (two).
Later, the blackest sheep of the Kenan family (who was the only Confederate to penetrate Washington, DC and take a clear shot at Lincoln, obviously missing him), was the one who in 1898 CAUSED -- with the Pastor of First Presbyterian, the denomination AUTHORIZED by the Kenan Stuart Ancestors -- the 1898 Wilmington Race Riot, the ONLY time in US History that we suffered an actual COUP D' ETAT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilmington_Insurrection_of_1898 .
And all THAT emboldened Southern Racists to pass all the Jim Crow Laws across the South WITHIN TWO YEARS!!! My main goal in life is to MAKE AMENDS for "these kinds of Kenans" by exposing the TRUTH so we can all heal.
But there's a teensy-weensy rub -- and perhaps you spot it in your congregation every Sunday: The Christian Church in America has PROUDLY KEPT the Sunday Worship hour the MOST segregated in America!!!
While I don't doubt the "Godliness" of your congregants, HOW MANY of them invite their not-white or OFF-white (Southern Europeans, Arabs, Jews, and such), friends to hear YOUR excellent sermons???
Perhaps the GREATEST SHAME of the Episcopal Church is NOT that they conspired with the Republican Party to MURDER Tennessee Williams and then STEAL HIS ESTATE from Harvard University because they had gotten wind he was going to CHANGE HIS WILL (Jackie Kennedy Onassis told Tom and me many details at a party January 11, 1982, so he took her advice and eventually changed it, but Sewanee's lawyer with TWO OTHER "practicing Episcopalians" -- the JEW, John Eastman -- Epstein was the family's actual name -- and John Eastman whom I knew quite well back then was the brother-in-law of Paul McCartney. He not only authorized Tennessee Williams' murder, but earlier had authorized John Lennon's murder -- just ask Yoko Ono if you don't believe ME!!!), but that that murder/theft -- in conjunction with the Republican Party of Tennessee who PAID the co-conspirators (one admitted this to me and others), after Tom's DEATH and Will-Codicil REVERSAL ON LIES, FORCED the Episcopal Church to ALSO be TOTALLY INVOLVED with the Republican Party-led CIA/NSA world-wide NARCO-TRAFFICKING, begun by George H.W. Bush -- and I believe some of the Bushes are Episcopalian, no???

Well, President Obama went Episcopalian when he moved into the White House -- having PREVIOUSLY worshipped with a Rev. Jeremiah Wright, known BEST for his exclusive call-boy service ONLY for married black professionals, and Jesse Jackson, Jr. was a client as well.
So that's how they blackmailed our President to PROTECT the CIA/NSA Episcopal Church worldwide narco-trafficking. Bill and Hillary Clinton were both HUGE narco-traffickers as well (for the Bush Family).
HEY!!! I don't want to believe any of this either!!! My LIFE was saved because I can PROVE IT!!!
So you have to go back to the Reagan Administration or Jimmy Carter/ Ford, etc. to find "drug-clean" American Presidents. I MET the Reagans and they were PUPPETS of Cheney/Bush and not consciously complicit in the REAGAN SINS, which were truly MONSTROUS!!!

1. I PRAY TO GOD that my distant Kenan relatives NEVER were involved in the narco-trafficking nor the AGGRESSIVE RACISM of the Episcopal Church in America!!!
This is NOT something I ask you to concern yourself with -- I am in touch with the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church USA (and the three top "Prelates" of the Anglican Church in England -- as well as top people and lawyers at Sewanee) -- also lawyers at Harvard University -- and we can work this all out, eventually.
2. I PRAY TO GOD that my Kenan Relatives had NOTHING TO DO with The University of the South -- which graduated many FINE Episcopalian clergy, including Walter Dakin, Tennessee Williams' grandfather -- and its FOR GENERATIONS NOW seat of upper-class absolute WHITE RACISM, symbolized by a Ceremonial Scepter that with BIG TROUBLE was retired about the year 2000 C.E.
That thing had the Confederate Battle Flag on it EVEN THEN!!!
This mace was the SYMBOL of the Episcopalian Church in the South (at its only seminary -- Sewanee), until 1997 -- and only THEN changed because it had been damaged!!!
So ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, I DARE SAY, I'll eventually collect a HUGE FINANCIAL SETTLEMENT with the Episcopal Church and Sewanee!!!
