TOO BAD this does not list all Tom's CORPORATE BOARDS (or stock ownerships), or his many OTHER Political Donations (supporting promoting Republicans, especially Donald Trump, and the Oil Industry).
Tom's ONLY KNOWN contribution to a Democrat was to former Sen. John Edwards for US President, who had a problem with his wife, Elizabeth -- the maximum -- and the Senator was a NEIGHBOR of Tom's in Chapel Hill.
We ALL know what happened with THAT (think: haircut)!!!
WHOOPS!!! Wrong Elizabeth -- but she'll JUST HAVE TO DO (I knew her fairly well, back in the day).

Since 1924, The Duke Endowment has worked to help people and strengthen communities in North Carolina and South Carolina by nurturing children, promoting health, educating minds and enriching spirits. Located in Charlotte, N.C., the Endowment seeks to fulfill the visionary genius and innovative legacy of James Buchanan Duke, one of the great industrialists and philanthropists of the 20th century. Mr. Duke established the Endowment in 1924 with $40 million. In 1925, it was expanded with an additional $67 million from his estate. Adjusted for present value, Mr. Duke's total gifts would amount to almost $1.4 billion today. Governed by a board of trustees, Endowment staff conduct grant-making according to guidelines in Mr. Duke's original Indenture of Trust, a legal document that remains relevant and timely after more than 80 years. In November 2011, Trustees approved six Guiding Principles for our work. The Endowment has awarded over $3 billion in grants since its inception, including nearly $1.5 billion to Duke University. With assets of $2.8 billion, the Endowment is one of the nation's largest 501(c)(3) private foundations. Today, more than 83 percent of our total spending goes to grant-making. In addition to grant-making work in four program areas, the Endowment shares its knowledge by publishing resources for grantees and other service organizations, including information about what we're learning from our work in various publications, reports and evaluations. We also operate a fellowship program to cultivate emerging leaders in philanthropy. –Show less

>>> A FEW OTHER THINGS (and then my list of email addresses that gets every blog posting, today anyway):
1. Long-time Wilmington Homeless Straight Couple Conrad and Teresa REAPPEARED on the river-side steps of the FEDERAL COURTHOUSE building downtown about a week ago. I had not seen them in about 1.5 years, and had assumed they'd been run out of town, jailed or simply "disappeared", as many street people do.
I had gone there reminiscing of the Good Old Days of meeting up with Danny Sinatra, his wife Phoebe Dollar, and father-in-law, a former Raleigh Police Officer fired for REFUSING to break the Law. I forget his first name, but I called him "Confederate Dollar", and we all smoked pot with our backs to the cameras while leaning on the railing before the river -- or on the grounds of the Federal Court House where local cops don't go, and the Feds don't CARE about pot.
Danny Sinatra and his wife Phoebe Dollar (a STAR Goth Actress), and their daughter here in Wilmington, but they moved rather disastrously to California a month before my return from Mexico in 2015, and Danny has spent the last two years in Prison there for Meth-related offenses.
And Conrad and Teresa told me they thought I was DEAD, half the street people telling them I had been KILLED, the other half claiming I had fled to ALASKA!!! They had moved to Oregon, but finding the climate a bit wet and cool for their taste (and Conrad missing his family ties here), they came back VIA MEXICO -- on a GREYHOUND!!!
2. I just got notice that my Bank of America savings account that gets no interest, but saves me service fees on my accounts by automatically sending small amounts of money from checking to savings, from October on, will only do that if I maintain at least $300.00 in it.
Right now, I've had to transfer nearly all of it out to pay bills and have less than $25.00 there, so Kenan Family Controlled Bank of America is trying to FORCE SMALL ACCOUNT HOLDERS out into the street.
In the Metaphysical Bible Dictionary, "Kenan" means either "The Sadness" or "Unbridled Greed and Acquisitiveness". Thomas S. Kenan III and Betty (Price) Kenan who is his stepmother and widow of Frank Hawkins Kenan EPITOMIZE this, they so clever in their Episcopalian Devil Worship that they ALSO are great at funding extraordinary Charities.
And THAT is GOOD, and the Kenan-Educated and Kenan-Encouraged-in-the-Arts HAVE ALREADY DEFEATED the Kenan Political Allies and Religionists.
