The Day the Music Died

"Sometimes the people who know, Scott, don't know they know. And sometimes the people who don't know, think they do know.

"But you can always tell who is who, because, of course, with knowing comes tolerance, and patience, and love.

>>> EVERYONE REMEMBERS VIVIDLY THE MOMENT THEY HEARD THE NEWS OF JOHN LENNON'S DEATH:

I was drinking a vodka tonic at the outside bar near the entrance to THE MONSTER gay bar and disco in Key West. It was late afternoon, a time I NEVER went to The Monster, but this might have been the time I went to sign up to spaghetti-wrestle John Waters' actor Divine. Having a case of serious NERVES over taking the dare from friends to do this -- and The Monster was going to make a big EVENT of Divine's appearance, I went in the afternoon and had to have a cocktail to bolster my confidence.

Suddenly, a thin twenties-something woman with long dark hair ran in through the croton-lined entrance passageway, BURST into the opening around the bar, and shouted "THEY MURDERED JOHN LENNON!!! -- GUNNED HIM DOWN IN THE STREET!!!"

Panic ensued as no one could believe it -- but you HAD to believe her. The bartender fumbled as he snapped off the piped in music and searched the dial for a radio station broadcasting news. It was as if a nuclear BOMB had detonated. The whole WORLD suddenly had gone dark dark -- the future disappeared.

>>> ADDED 21 MARCH 2013, very late, CST: Because this posting is SUDDENLY HUGELY POPULAR TODAY (getting SIX TIMES the hits of any other posting -- including two written/posted today and emailed to 497 mostly QUALITY contacts in the USA -- or here in Puerto Vallarta, where I have lived in Political Exile from the State of North Carolina (ONLY), for exactly 10 days less than one year.

I KNEW so many of these people. And I knew the best friends of those whom I didn't know. Please read with an open mind: http://scottkenan.blogspot.mx/2013/01/is-this-why-nyc-lawyer-john-eastman-had.html
