A Day to Pause (a house still to collapse)

1. I was saddened today to learn of the passing of Rev. Jim Holderness of First Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, NC. Jim led an extraordinary life, most of it with his vibrant, loving wife Ginny. My condolences go to Ginny and the family.

I pray that going forward, First Presbyterian elevates new subordinate leadership who do NOT defend people like District Attorney Benjamin R. David and allow them to hide their NARCO-TRAFFICKING behind the church congregation and exemplary Presbyterian Principles.

The two most shocking events in my year of membership at First Prez were the day Ernie Thompson admitted to me he had chased a nice black couple I knew off (the man was a retired high officer in the US Army), by pointing out that the Presbyterian Church SUPPORTS gay clergy and is likely to SOON approve gay marriage. Ernie KNEW that most black folks are HIGHLY hypocritical about sexuality, and that this would keep the congregation lily-WHITE.

It worked.

While Ernie admitted his acceptance and support of these concepts to ME, others in the congregation only WHISPERED about them, knowing much of the congregation would REVOLT if they knew what Dr. Thompson actually believed in and VOTED FOR at higher Presbyterian meetings.

The other sad event was the day I confronted Jim Holderness as he pumped gas at the BP station on Third Street at Red Cross. I was emphatic in confronting him with the TRUTH of the man First Presbyterian had made a DEACON. Jim, somewhat trapped in the event of waiting for his tank to fill, blasted back at me that he not only SUPPORTS Ben David's political activities and leadership (of the NARCO-TRAFFICKING -- for profit to the Republican Party) -- but that HE, ALSO (meaning in addition to Dr. Thompson doing it), PROTECTS Ben David.

Coca leaves, when chewed by Indians at high altitudes, give a mild lift that counteracts the low oxygen and are helpful -- but when refined to a white powder, can bring a person to harm. Smoking opium or making poppy-seed tea have a calming effect -- but refined to the white powder of heroin, causes NOTHING but harm. Lily White congregations are as refined as the delusional drugs they share color with.

I once was so PROUD of the Kenan Family's Stuart progenitors having originally authorized the Church of Scotland (Presbyterianism -- the BEST of christian philosophies that I've found) and of my surname being plastered ALL OVER EVERYTHING, almost, at First Prez. Today, with them LOCK-STEP in league with the Devil, I await the soon-to-come GREAT COMEUPPANCE:

Today, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the President will once again take the Oath of Office, and deliver an Inaugural Address that we hope both inspires Americans and addresses substantive and pressing issues his administration must focus on in his second term. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a key leader in the civil rights movement, and the federal holiday marks an annual occasion to honor his legacy. The ACLU has worked to defend and expand upon the work of the civil rights movement. We stand ready to work with the President over the next four years to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.
