The day Martin Luther King, Jr., was assassinated, I joined about HALF the Blacks and about five Whites in B. Reed Henderson High School in West Chester, Pennsylvania in the auditorium to "nurse our wound". My friend Lonnie Meltzer proposed forming a "Lovers Of Negroes" Club -- since the acronym was her name -- LOL!!!
In 1990, I not only was a member of the NAACP, but WROTE back-and-forth with Coretta Scott King through the King Center. Only LATER did I learn that Coretta had grown up in West Chester -- and FLED THERE after the assassination -- because she KNEW it was an INSIDE JOB!!!
But Coretta died in 2006 -- FOUR YEARS before I learned from his OWN MOUTH that Tom Houck had essentially murdered Martin.
Rev. Sen. Raphael Warnock AND Ebenezer Baptist Church have BOTH been on my Email Lists for YEARS -- let's see if I can get a REACTION out of them, no???
