In November 2012, it was revealed that seven SEALs recruited by Owen had been disciplined for revealing classified information to a video game company.[22] Owen recruited seven of his former SEAL members to serve as paid consultants where they revealed details. All failed to notify their commanding officer and go through the proper channels; they revealed specifics, including showing their equipment to the game makers. They received a letter of reprimand, called "a career killer," making them unable to receive promotions, and had their wages cut for two months.[22]


In November 2014, Owen sued his lawyer for $8 million, arguing the attorney improperly advised him that he did not need to have the manuscript reviewed by DoD.[23] Owen revealed that his failure to have the book reviewed caused him to settle with the government by forfeiting $4.5 million, loss of his security clearance (and future consultant work), loss of the movie rights, and damage to his reputation.[23]


In 2014, he published a follow-up, No Hero: The Evolution of a Navy SEAL, which was vetted by the DoD, but is still under investigation by the government.[24]


In August 2016, Owen settled a lawsuit and agreed to pay back his royalties of US $6.8 million to the US government.[6]

BTW: The REASON I wanted to THANK THE DRUG-TRAFFICKERS is because without all of those DRUGS -- Wilmington has the HIGHEST per-capita ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION in North Carolina and is Number 5 in the USA -- PLUS has the HIGHEST DRUG ADDICTION and TRAFFICKING of ANY CITY in the USA.


WITHOUT the HUGE INCREASES of alcohol and drugs during COVID-19 social restrictions -- Wilmington would have BLOWN UP -- which it actually DID -- Drug-Mafia Murders doubled last year -- after nearly doubling the year before.


I ALSO wanted to comment on the death of Olympia Dukakis, the ORIGINAL "Anna Madrigal" from Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City. I met her at the Installation of Tennessee Williams's Poet's Stone in Episcopal Cathedral St. John the Divine in Manhattan, late fall of 2009.



Anne Jackson, Eli Wallach, Silvia Miles, Olympia Dukakis, John Guare, Vanessa Redgrave, and John Patrick Shanley sat in the front row -- I already knew them -- or met ALL OF THEM at the Bishop's Reception -- except Ms. Redgrave, who skipped it.

In the apartments beneath me, lived Sa'ant Samuel Celia, Jr. -- who ADMITTED supplying his personal friend Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead with the BEST QUALITY LSD for many years -- and had ALSO supplied Dr. Timothy Leary and my "FRIEND" Theodore Druch from the Puerto Vallarta Writers Group.
