Mark Robinson, North Carolina’s Republican lieutenant governor, dismissed a call for his resignation on Friday after he was exposed on videotape calling members of the LGBTQ community “filth.” Robinson said he stood by his homophobic comment and claimed to Raleigh NBC affiliate WRAL that right-wing speech was being “demonized.”


After the video was released Wednesday, Democratic state Sen. Jeff Jackson called for Robinson to resign, saying such “open discrimination” is “completely unacceptable.”

Mark Robinson is a true American Patriot. Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, he grew up in an impoverished house(hold) as the 9th of 10 children. Experiencing alcoholism (sic), and witnessing domestic abuse first hand, Mark was able not only to survive, but thrive.

As Lieutenant Governor, Mark will:
